TMI: Embarrassing Purchases

Can preperation H come in an any more loud and "look at me box"??  I mean YELLOW with BLUE FONT??  Seriously, they should realllllllllllly think of a better way to advertise. Do you know how embarrassing it is to check out in a grocery line w/ that stuff?  I would love to say "oohhh, this is not for me, its for my husband" but then I think that THEY would think that I'm totally lieing.  WHICH b-t-w I wouldn't be.  No, for realsies!

I think its also embarrassing to buy condoms (while wearing my wedding ring, I just KNOW the check out person is thinking, 'WHAT a ho-bag, she is SO cheating on her husband' (because how many married couples use condoms?!)(We actually do.. or did, ANYWAYS) or when I'm not wearing my ring, I'm sure they realllllllllly think I'm a sloot, I mean, how many single girls buy boxes of condoms?!!  Let me point out that they SHOULD though, HELLO--- Safety first.  Lord knows men will try to hook it up sans protection any chance they get!  But we'll save THAT convo for another day...

Back on subject, its the same embarrassment when buying pregnancy tests - I can't help but wondering if they are thinking that I'm too young for a test, or maybe they wonder if I'm hoping to be preggo, or hoping NOT to be preggo.. IDK, but it gives me anxiety!  I also feel like I owe them an explanation, which would be one realllllly awkward conversation.  You know what? I'm going to start buying all of the above online.

Yup. Problem solved. I'm going to go take a nap.

Hello, Long Lashes!

I've been using Latisse for almost 2 months now .. annnnd I'm very happy to report that it WORKS!  I've had several clients that have used it with awesome results so I finally decided to give it a shot.  I was nervous about the possible side effects.. UM specifically the whole 'permanently turning your eye color brown' thing, but I've NEVER personally known someone who's experienced that side effect, nor could I find that review online.  Apparently if used correctly the chances of that happening are pretty much non-existant.  I have also used Revitalash in the past, which also works; it makes lashes long, but DOESN'T make your lashes any thicker... LATISSE DOES!  The biggest downside to Latisse is that its expensive, and you have to have an rX...but, I've found a loophole -->   Buy it here!   Try it, you'll LOVE IT!  Here's me with just a tad bit of mascara on today, and notice, my eyes are still blue-ish green-ish gray-ish. (idk, they change!)  Oh... and you can also see where I'm adding Latisse to help my brows fill in -- I want thick bushy brows this season. I've only been using it on my brows about 2 weeks, and not surprisingly, its working for them too!  YAY, love, love, love it!

Shower for Emily & Baby Halley

Jill (Co-Host), Emily (Guest of Honor) & Myself
My friend Jill and I co-hosted a carnival themed baby shower last weekend, and everything came out SO CUTE!  I have to share a couple of pics!  We had fresh squeeze lemonade, super adorable cake-balls, mini corndogs, a candy bar for favors (in cutesy little popcorn bags!) and all sorts of adorable stuff.  Luckily we had a great turn out and the mom-to-be received lots of great gifts!  Here are a few pics....

**I showcased these on my blog a while back but JUST IN CASE you forgot here is the diaper cake and diaper CUPCAKES! (These were a big hit; nobody had ever seen them before!)
 Here's the table set up:

Here is the little candy bar/favor area...

And lastly, I have to share a pic of the handmade advice cards + the card/advice box, it was so freaking cuuute. (In fact.. I loved it so much, that I kept it at the end of the shower.. You never know when that thing will come in handy!!).

What to Expect When You're Expecting

Babies. Everywhere.  Friends, family members, clients... YOU NAME IT.  I know, like, a million pregnant ladies right now.  I've decided that I reallllllllly need the famous book What to Expect When You're Expecting.  Am I expecting?  Yes. Well, not like in the next 9 months or anything, but EVENTUALLY. (Not now, I repeat, NOT NOW!)  The reason I need the book is because I have so many people in my life that are either pregnant, getting pregnant, or w/ newborn babies.  No sillies, its not so I can educate them - THAT would be awkward/rude! ... I need it so I can keep up in conversation!!  Lets be honest all you mommies out there - you know that being a parent is like being a part of some secret society/cult that's UBER exclusive.  Non-parents are NOT getting in, ohhhh noooo.  My fave quote is "When you're a mother you'll understand.."  SERIOUSLY?  F that, I'm pretty sure I can comprehend parenthood and all of its implications without being a parent.  (P.S. Once I *AM* a mom, I'll be excited about being a part of the exclusive mommy-club, and Ill be snubbing the non-parents too, yeahhh!) But anyway, back to the book. Yes, I need it. I hate being clueless about all this stuff, and I need to know what's going on!  Plus, since one day in the near future (okay... I said it) I PLAN on starting a family, I also need to know everything I could potentially be getting myself into.  I'm not one for surprises.

Mini-Update :)

Lets see... I have been working 60 hours each week, and am about ready to pull my hair out.  All the working I've been doing has finally pushed me to the brink, so starting in June, I'll be going PART TIME! Whooo, I cannot even begin to explain how happy this makes me!!!  It may be temporary; it may be forever; we aren't totally sure yet.  I'm so looking forward to some extra downtime though.  I want to spend time at home, hang out w/ the hubs and doggies, go visit my family and friends, and quite possibly do a whole lot of nothing!  I'm very thankful for a wonderful husband that is supportive of me cutting back.  I'm sure I'll be a LOT nicer w/ a lot less stress in my life. ;) So that's my work update!

I also..... got a new car!  I have been driving the same car for 6 years!!  Jake and I had talked about getting me something new, but it definitely wasn't a priority since I had a vehicle that runs just fine - but we went to the dealership and I fell in love with this new camry!  I had a little buyers remorse the next day, and felt really selfish about getting something new, but the hubs assured me that I deserve it. (Good man!) Oh, remember that new truck he got a few weeks ago? Um, yeah... we're hoping to sell it.  We got in WAY over our heads with all the repairs, now we're hoping that someone will take if off our hands.  *Fingers crossed* that we get an offer sometime soon!!

There you have it - Thats all thats new in our hood.
