Whaaa? 25 Days??

YOWZA 25 days since my last post?!  Once again time has zoooooooomed by!  I have been one BUSY girl, getting ready to make some major changes in my life:  My husband and I are starting a business!  We're excited and thrilled and nervous and hopeful and a handful of other words!  I known for a while that I wanted to own my own business one day... mostly because I'm bossy and I would ESPECIALLY love being my own boss.  I'm excited about the (eventual) freedom, and have high hopes that it will provide us with a really solid financial future!  We definitely know we are in for a challenge, but we're hoping for the best, and that we don't end up flat broke with me unemployed.

So my BIGGEST concern with all this is putting in my resignation at my current job.  Why does that have to be so scary?????  I'm hoping that my boss(es) will be excited for me, and understand my need to advance my own career, but seriously, does that EVER happen?  I assume every boss would be angry and bitter over losing an employee, ESPECIALLY a kick-ass employee like myself.  So... I don't know when I'll pull the plug, maybe when I can work up the nerve.  I totally plan on giving at LEAST 2 weeks notice but I also wonder if they will let me actually work that 2+ weeks.  If not, HELLO vacation (or stay-cation) time.. without pay...ehhh :/    If so...well, I'm probably in for some awkward moments and/or a hostile work environment.  Ill update the world when I figure this one out.  When/how I will do it, and of course how it plays out.  Wish me luck on that one...

In other news, I have been doing a 24 day cleanse.  Yes, that's right, I said twenty-four DAYS, which is practically a month... What the hell was I thinking?!  That means no: dairy, sugar, starches, caffeine, fried foods, processed foods, alcohol... or maybe it would be easier to say what I CAN eat: Fiber. Protein. Fruit. Vegetables.  Fun times huh?  The first few days were the worst because I felt like I was starving to death, and the caffeine withdrawals were horrible.  But, I am happy to report that I am now successfully on day 13!  I've only cheated on TWO meals when it came to eating/drinking things I shouldn't, but i have not had ANY COKE!!!!!  If you know me, you know this is quite the accomplishment.  I had only lost 3 lbs the last time I weighed, but I have for sure lost inches, which is what I am super concerned with.  And my husband says more than a pound a week isn't healthy.  (On that note, I love that man.)  My little tummy pooch is finally shrinking! YES!!!  I may have been well on my way to a FUPA - and we cannot let that happen!  I'm hoping this cleanse and my results motivate me enough to make a major lifestyle change, and continue to avoid fried/processed foods, sugar & caffeine - I read in a magazine that "skinny people don't diet," they just eat well all the time, that way if they ever have one bad meal, its not detrimental to their waistline.  That's my goal when this cleanse hell is over!

Well adios, amigos!  I hope everyone is enjoying the start to their summer!

My (Sampson's) Thundershirt Just Arrived!

So, I bought my verrrry energetic weimaraner, Sampson, a Thundershirt.  Heard about it?  No?  Google it.  Its basically a really tight wrap-around compression shirt for dogs that is supposed to ease their anxiety when you put it on, especially during Thunderstorms, Thus:  the"thundershirt".  Its the same basic idea of swaddling a baby.  Get it?  Okay. Well, I guess you DON'T have to google it.

This is how Thundershirt should look when put on properly.
Here in Dallas we have been having these intense t-storms out the wazoo.  No lie.  Sampson has been sleeping in a teensy laundry basket in the closest for days straight, and the other day he refused to potty outside (or inside, if you were wondering) for a FULL 24 hours!  How is that possible, I don't even know!  Maybe I just haven't found it yet... Anyway!  I should have known that putting ANYTHING on Sampson (i.e. a leash, halter, dress, socks) he tries to attack me and I end up chasing him around for 15+ minutes before I get to the point when I usually say SCREW IT and give up.  Wellllllll that was pretty much the same-old same-old song and dance today.  I had to fight him FOREVAAA to get the damn thing on him.  Here's about how it went.
Attempt #1. Sampson-1 Thundershirt-0

Attempt #2:  Sampson-2, Thundershirt-0

My best and final attempt at getting it on correctly

Once all was said and done, Sampson layed motionless on the couch.  Not sure if this means the shirt is "working" or not. . .
